Junior Golf

Our juniors love all that Perry Park Country Club has to offer.  Perry Park families look forward to seasonal events such as our professionally led Junior Golf program along with a special junior golf instructional clinic series designed to introduce the fundamentals of golf to young aspiring players. We’ve created a fun and exciting atmosphere to help children enjoy learning the game of golf.

The Perry Park Junior Golf Program has a decades-old reputation for teaching the fundamentals of golf to children and grandchildren while instilling in them the mores and etiquette of the game. For 6 weeks students have the opportunity to play and attend classes in golf fundamentals, taught by our Pro Shop team of PGA and LPGA professionals

Junior Golf Program (Thursday Morning) – Golfers are placed into five groups, divided by age and ability, and play from three to eighteen holes.  Parents/Grandparents are required to monitor the golfers during their play on the course, keep score, and assist the young golfers in pace of play.  Monitoring requirements can vary from 2-6 hours on Thursday mornings.   After play, junior golfers will receive a short 10-15 minute instruction.  The program culminates in an awards banquet where trophies are awarded to winners in each age group.

Junior Golf Clinics (Wednesday Afternoon) – Dedicated golf instructional clinics, emphasizing learning and practicing the fundamentals of golf:  putting, chipping, full swing and golf etiquette.  This program is suited for all levels of golfer, and allows more coaching time with our golf professionals and staff.  After the clinic, members can schedule tee times and enjoy an evening family golf outing!

Pee Wee Golf & Pizza Events (Selected Sunday Afternoons) – A fun, non-competitive 9-hole scramble event with pizza & lemonade after the round.  At least one adult volunteer member per two groupings will be asked to supervise the kids while on the golf course.  To foster the "kids only" feel of this event, adults are asked to not intervene in play other than addressing the pace of play limits.

·        Who can participate?  Junior Golf Programs are open to children and grandchildren of ALL members, social and golf.

·        Why did we add the Wednesday afternoon Clinics?  We listen to our members!  Many requested an opportunity more instruction time for their junior golfers as they learn the game.  We also received feedback requesting an afternoon option for those who are unable to support the monitoring requirements for league play.

·        Can my junior golfer participate in ALL programs?  Yes!  We designed these programs with a different emphasis to provide our junior golfers opportunities for both play and dedicated instruction.  We want our junior golfers to enjoy the game as much as we do!
